Tarot Reveal

Tarot Reveal

Thoth deck

Take a deep breath and pick a card. Your card will reflect the “flavor” of the time frame it is chosen in, and what a time we are in right? Astrologically as we move through this period of time we might focus on what we may need to be more aware of. Mercury has just stationed and moved retrograde in the sign of Cancer. This by itself isn’t too unusual, but Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are all also retrograde now as well. Retrogrades are times to review, renew, reconsider, renegotiate, relax, reevaluate, redo, and any other way of you can think of to become aware of and change perceptions on any number of issues that these planets may symbolize. For some, especially with the planet Mercury, the retrograde period is seen as one of disruption, and mix-ups, mis-communications, and breakdowns. There are times when this might be the case, but it is also an opportunity to take your time and pay close attention to what is happening and why. Things like reading and rereading a contract or rules and regulations for example are a good idea anyway, whether Mercury is retrograde or not. So take your time and pay attention right now, you can take actions to revamp or rework things now, but may want to more cautious of starting anything new that you can’t get out of later without thinking about it first.

Additionally on the 21st. there will be a New Moon and Solar eclipse at 0 degrees Cancer. This is a powerful degree and the inclusion of the North Node at 29 degrees is conjunct this eclipse making it even more meaningful. There would seem to be a doorway opening to change old thought patterns and move into new ways of thinking and responding to not just others, but our own selves as well. A moving from just being in your head, to also being in your heart. Perceptions about values, morals, needs, wants, boundaries, safety, and even power and authority might be changed or let go now. So go ahead and take this time to do a deep dive into some inner work on yourself, maybe start meditating or doing shadow work for instance. Then when we move direct again you can be ready to take actions that will lead to your life looking more authentic to who you really are. The deck for this reveal is the Thoth deck published by U.S.Games Systems, Inc.

The cards revealed

From left to right we have Fortune, Ace of Swords, and finally Prince of Swords. The crystals used include a Selenite candle holder, Sunstone heart, Amethyst and Golden Healer Spirit Quartz, Citrine points, Pietersite wands, Tibetan Quarts D.T. points, black Kyanite, Flourite bat, Serpentine elephant, and Moss Agate unicorn. The flowers are Sunflowers and Nasturtiums.

Fortune

This card is attributed to the Planet Jupiter, and as Crowley says represents “the Universe in its aspect as a continual change of state”. If there is one constant in life it is change, and now is certainly a time for it. Jupiter is also expansive so the changes may be larger than we are ready for. Knowing that change is needed can be a good heads-up for us to prepare as much as possible for what is to come, to release what is not working, and be willing to go where the Universe wants to lead us at this time. Change can be good or bad. Though in a reading this is usually viewed as a change for the better as most come for answers when they are distressed or concerned with some matter. So if you picked this card you can expect a change for the better. Use your intuition to feel out where and when the wave of luck will wash over you and ride it to your new way of being.

Ace of Swords

This card is known as the root of the powers of Air. Air represents our thinking. This sword can be a force for good or ill, as the quote attributed to William Shakespeare “There is no good or bad but thinking makes it so”. Inherent in this card is the idea of the energy that comes forth needing to be “invoked”. One can imagine He-man and his “I have the power” cry, but what if Skeletor was wielding this sword instead? So if you picked this card you may want to be sure you know yourself, and your motivations before using the power that will be available to you to wield with your thinking and communications at this time.

Prince of Swords

This card is Air of Air. Associated with the astrological degrees between 20 Capricorn and 20 Aquarius. This card may represent a person in your life, or even yourself. In many ways this card is like the Buddhist concept of the “monkey Mind”, which is unsettled, uncontrolled, fanciful, restless, and inconsistent. It is one who builds castles in the air, but doesn’t take action to build them on the ground. There is a great intellect and the thought and ideas spring out fast and furious, but they are often destroyed or tossed aside just as quickly. Swords are two sided and can cut through dross and lead to clearing a path, or they can cut others or even yourself if you aren’t careful. So if you picked this card and it is someone in your life use your intuition to asses if they are just “all talk” and just spinning ideas, or if all their talk is trying to convince you of something that may or may not be real. If this is you then this week may be a good time to try some meditations to tame the monkey mind, or if the ideas are valuable to you then put some focus on them through an action plan. Now would be a great time to write that play or book, or research a business model, or even knit that sweater.

Tarot Tuesday July 9th.

Tarot Tuesday

Take a moment and take a deep breath. Get centered, and grounded, then pick a card. By get centered I mean to get calm, focused, and to be present in the moment.  By get grounded I mean to uncross your feet and arms, with feet flat on the floor. It is also beneficial if you can quickly imagine roots shooting down from your Root Chakra and feet into the Earth. Allow these roots to anchor you in a supportive way that neutralizes negativity, draining it away and draws up nurturing Earth energy for stability. Sometimes more than one  breath is needed to feel ready. Often three nice, slow, deep breaths are just right. Do what feels best for you…

When you feel ready pick the card that you are the most drawn to. The deck this week is the Connolly Tarot by Peter Paul Connolly and Eileen Connolly, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. The crystals above each card will also be included in the following mini-readings, from left to right they are Rose Quartz, Sodalite, and Red Jasper.

The Reveal

From left to right we have Rose Quartz above Judgement, Sodalite above the Five of Pentacles, and Red Jasper above the Ten of Cups. Pay attention to your initial reaction upon seeing your card, then compare this to how you feel after the mini-reading. Awareness is the first step in developing your own intuition. Did your feelings or thoughts change after you read the information about the card that you picked? Did the mini-reading resonate for you, or did you find another meaning for yourself within the information about the card that made more sense?

Rose Quartz

Rose quartz is called the heart stone, it corresponds to the heart chakra. Rose Quartz is a silicone dioxide crystal that is a common variety of Quartz found all around the world. This stone is also said to inspire love and beauty in all forms. Used for developing or attracting loving relationships with others, and even the self. In divination this stone is about forgiving yourself, and not allowing others to lay blame on you that you do not deserve. This stone also serves to help nurture a positive self-image, release emotional wounds, and learn to joyfully give and receive love.

Judgement

While in many decks this card would be associated with the planets Saturn or Pluto and the element of fire Eileen Connolly has it assigned to the Moon.  According to Connolly Judgement suggests self-judgement, rebirth, a renewal of the inner you. The child is the higher consciousness already emerging into the new existence, pointing the way, naked and void of all previous thought patterns. The female consciousness is dressed in blue representing spirituality, with a scarf around her head and neck representing purity, she no longer wears shoes. The male conscious level is the process of reality. He is looking at the book of life-his life. He is in the process of self-judgement, self-analysis, it has been his greatest battle. The key: Wonderful things are starting to happen. You have the ability to forge ahead and see what the future holds. Break away from conventional thinking and face life realistically.

Sodalite

Sodalite is a feldspathoid with deep blue color that is intermingled with white calcite (though it sometimes can form in colors like grey, pink, green, or yellow). It is named for it’s sodium content, it is a chloric sodium aluminum silicate. First discovered in Greenland, with vast deposits found later in Ontario, Canada. Sodalite has a calm, stabilizing energy that is useful for those prone to anxiety or panic attacks.  It clears the way to allow movement from over-emotional to rational. It is good for creativity, inspiration, and focus. As a blue stone it is associated with the throat chakra, and the third eye chakra (Ajna) these chakras have dominion over communication, expression, as well as intuition and inspiration. In divination Sodalite shows a need to say something but also a need to be tactful and use the right words to say it.

Five of Pentacles

Many decks would associate this card astrologically with Mercury in Taurus and fixed earth as the modality and element. Eileen Connolly assigns this card astrologically to Jupiter/ Aquarius/Gemini/Uranus/Saturn/Mercury. The card image shows a blindfolded woman steadying herself on a garden gate composed of five pentacles. She is dressed in a purple skirt, the color of royalty, spirituality and healing. She also has on a yellow embroidered shirt and a green belt, yellow is often associated with the element air and gold is a hue of yellow, the green belt may be associated with earth and growing things as well as the color of money. A child or Cherub (the higher self) is removing a red blindfold from the woman (the feminine consciousness) this may represent a change from being blinded by passions to starting to see clearly. Eileen Connolly’s key: Take the time to review what is happening in your life and what  you want. Don’t be afraid. Listen to your higher self and open the gate of opportunity.

Red Jasper

Red Jasper. a stone of empowerment and strength. It is a microcrystalline variety of quartz, with a high iron content found all over the world. Said to be protective crystals of both the physical and spiritual realms. A stone of endurance and stamina, that activates the root chakra. It helps with connecting to Earth’s grounding energies and alleviates stress. A good stone for assisting with dream work, astral travel, and divination. It’s meaning in divination is a need to create and use boundaries with those who might be taking advantage of you, or trying to manipulate you.

Ten of Cups

Many decks may see this card as associated with Mars in Pisces and the modality and element of mutable water. Eileen Connolly assigns this card astrologically with Uranus/Scorpio/Pluto/Mars. The image of this card has a couple in the foreground that represent the male and female consciousnesses, behind them is a rainbow with ten cups and what appears to be a youth that may represent the higher self. Key: You are experiencing the happiness you desire. Realization of personal hopes and dreams.

When you feel ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. This week there are crystal hearts above each card that will be included in the following mini readings. From left to right the crystal hearts are Chrysocolla, Sunstone, and Super Seven. This weeks deck is the Morgan-Greer Tarot Deck published by U.S. Games Systems Inc.

Tarot Reveal

From left to right we have Chrysocolla above The Chariot, Sunstone above the Four of Swords, and Super Seven above the Nine of Cups. Take note of your initial reaction to your chosen card, compare this with how you feel after the mini-reading for the card. Awareness is the first step to developing intuition. Was this the card you expected, or did the message resonate with you? Sometimes it might take some time before it makes sense, or sometimes it just might not be the right message for you at this moment.

Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is a copper stone often found growing with Azurite and Malachite, and sometimes contains Cuprite. It can be found in the form of Gem Sillica, a crystallized form where the Chrysocolla is fused with Quartz. It ranges in colors from blues to greens. This crystal is known as a stone of empowerment for feminine energies, a stone for wise women, and as a Goddess stone. It is also known as a crystal that encourages people to stay home and not feel negative effects from seclusion. A stone for monks, hermits, and even prisoners. Helpful for public speaking and teaching, for sharing your knowledge. It is associated with the throat chakra, and the heart chakra through its blue and green coloring. In divination this crystal may mean that you need to be generous or allowing with someone whom you don’t particularly like. It may call on you to be diplomatic or tactful with someone at this time.

The Chariot

The Chariot is the seventh Trump, or Major Arcana card in most Tarot decks.  It’s element is water, and is said to correspond  to the sign of Cancer. It is ruled by the Moon. This card depicts a powerful figure in a Chariot usually being pulled by two sphinxes, or sometimes two horses.  Keywords include willpower, drive, overcoming obstacles, moving forward, a journey, confidence, and ambition. Reversed keywords might include self doubt, lack of direction, scattered energy, or being stuck. This card is about overcoming fears and conflicts, and moving forward. This card often points to a need to “stay the course” and make it through any issues or challenges. Hard work and commitment will ultimately lead one to success. Meditate, or sit with any problems and gain clarity from your intuitive inner guidance. Then stay the course, moving past any fears to a place of self-confidence.  I have found the Chariot card to be a lot like the sign of Cancer’s symbol the crab. The rider would seem to be tough, as he is protected by the shell of the chariot, and in some decks even armor. He takes this protection with him as he ventures out into the world, so he may get to where he wants to be while staying safe. Sensitive water types could use this imagery to help themselves navigate a sometimes harsh outside world.

Sunstone

Sunstone is a member of the Feldspar family with inclusions of Geothite and Hematite that refract light between the different crystal layers. The best known deposit location in the U.S. is in Oregon, but it is also found in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York. It is mined in other places around the globe like Australia, Canada, China, Congo, India, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. This crystal is said to be an abundance stone, a stone of luck and vitality that brings joy. It is thought to be akin to the powers of the Sun and light. It cleans and clears all Chakras, but is thought to be stimulating for the Root and Sacral Chakras. In divination Sunstone suggests allowing yourself to enjoy the present moment without worrying about the future.

Four of Swords

This card is the fourth card in the suit of Swords in the Minor Arcana. It carries the energy of Jupiter in Libra with the modality and element of cardinal air astrologically. It signals a time of renewal and expansive thinking. The image on the card is of a weary knight reclining on a stone slab in a chapel, he appears to be in deep meditation. Some keywords for this card include solitude, rest, withdrawal, reevaluating perspectives and strategies,  setting goals, opening to guidance from higher energies, optimistic, expansive and balanced. Swords represent the energies of our thinking and thoughts, communications, breathing, speech, and discrimination. The number four in numerology holds the energy of foundations, balance, sturdiness, the four directions, four elements, and even the energy of home, roots, and ancestry. If you were drawn to this card this week you may need some time alone to reflect on some things, and become clear about what steps to take next. It also might point to a need to simply begin or deepen a meditation practice at this time.

Super Seven

Super Seven, also known as Melody’s Stone, or Sacred Seven, is a combination of Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Cacoxenite, Rutile, Geothite, and Lepidocrocite. From Brazil, this stone shares the healing and metaphysical properties of each crystal and is a powerful stone for healing and wellness on all levels. It brings the body’s energy flow back into alignment, aligns all the Chakras, but works most effectively with the Crown Chakra.  It is said to aid psychic abilities and to allow for connection to Divine guidance. In divination this crystal suggests that you can trust not only your intuition but that you are protected right now. This assurance should help you to take chances this week with putting yourself out there in the world, this is a week to allow yourself to be confident and speak your truth.

Nine of Cups

This card is the ninth card in the Minor Arcana Suit of Cups. It has the astrological correspondence of Jupiter in Pisces, and the modality and element of mutable water. The image shows a satisfied figure usually thought to be a merchant, sitting before a half circle of cups. This card is known as the “wish card”, often thought to represent a wish come true, or a “yes’ to a question. Nine is a wrapping up or culmination, and cups represent emotions. Some keywords and ideas associated with this card include good health, prosperity and growth, pride in past accomplishments, social events, comfort, and success. If you have been drawn to this card this week you should expect to be feeling pleased with yourself by the week’s end, this could come from a business risk that pays off, or a social event that you feel went better than expected. In either case feeling a sense of confidence before and during, and a sense of pride after.

I hope that you have found these mini-readings informative and helpful. If you would like to book a full personal reading please feel free to contact me at april@lodestarphx.com

Tarot Tuesday June 11th

Tarot Tuesday

Take a moment and take a deep breath. Get centered, and grounded, then pick a card. By get centered I mean to get calm, focused, and to be present in the moment.  By get grounded I mean to uncross your feet and arms, with feet flat on the floor. It is also beneficial if you can quickly imagine roots shooting down from your root Chakra and feet into the Earth. Allow these roots to anchor you in a supportive way that neutralizes negativity and draws up nurturing Earth energy for stability. Sometimes more than one  breath is needed to feel ready. Often three nice, slow, deep breaths are just right. Do what feels best for you…

Once you feel ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. This week the card deck is the Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.  The crystal points above each card are used as markers and will also be included in the following mini-readings. From left to right the crystals are Rutilated Quartz, Clear Quartz, and Chevron Amethyst. I can’t recall where I acquired the clear quartz point, but the other two I got from Crystal Intuition Arizona

The Reveal

From left to right we have Rutilated Quartz above the Three of Swords, Clear Quartz above the Magician, and Chevron Amethyst above the Six of Wands. Pay attention to what comes up for you upon seeing the card that you were drawn to. Our emotions, feelings and thoughts are all ways that our intuition speak to us and awareness of this is the first step in learning to understand, trust, and rely on our own intuition. Hopefully the mini-reading will provide some guidance or at least food for thought for the week in addition to the general educational information about the crystals and cards.

Rutilated Quartz

This variety of Quartz contains golden colored strands, or some call them needles of Rutile, a mineral made of titanium dioxide.  It is found all over the world, as is regular quartz.  It is said to clear and balance all of the Chakras, the golden color of the Rutile may work especially well with the Solar Plexus Chakra. It is used in meditation, for psychic work, in grids, also for healing, and even for magickal work.  In divination this crystal may suggest that you meditate on an area in life that you may feel stuck, diving deeply into this area now might bring the answers that have thus far eluded you. Using the energy of Rutilated Quartz right now to assist you, you can see the step that needs to be taken to get things moving.

Three of Swords

This card is the third card in the Minor Arcana suit of Swords. Astrologically it carries the energy of Saturn in Libra with the modality and element of cardinal air. This card image is one of the most striking in the tarot deck as three swords pierce a heart with storm clouds raining down in the background. The keywords and concepts for this card include that of severe distress, the heart tried by pain, painful advancement, upheaval, negative or hurtful thinking and communications, despair, and depression. While there is some consensus around this card pointing to pain, it is usually caused by and can be mitigated by our thinking, and perception. Swords are thoughts, thinking, communication, learning, and discernment. Three is a number for growth, and creativity, this can be good or bad. It is good if we are growing thoughts that increase our happiness, not so good if we are in a depressive spiral with our thoughts. If you have been drawn to this card this week it is likely that you will have some disappointment to work through. What you learn from it, and how you decide to move past it are going to be important. It may do well to remember this week that there is no failure but only lessons. Like Thomas Edison who is credited with having said about the light bulb before getting one to work successfully “I have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”.

Clear Quartz

Clear quartz has the ability to focus, amplify, store, and transform energy. It is used in technology in watches, radio transmitters and receivers, microphones,  ultra sound devices, memory chips in computers, and other electronic circuitry. The phenomenon of piezoelectricity, the release of electric charge under the application of mechanical stress, occurs in all noncentrosymmetric materials.  Pyroelctricity, the release of charge due to a material’s change of temperature occurs in all materials that belong to polar crystal symmetry class. Not all noncentrosymmetric classes are polar, and not all piezoelectric crystals are pyroelectric. All pyroelectric crystals are piezoelectric though.

These properties of energy amplification, programmability, and memory make quartz crystals useful for healing, meditation, communicating with guides, expanding consciousness, or really almost any other purpose you could imagine. It is good at amplifying the energies of other stones, or groups of stones like in grids. It is a wonderful material for wands and staffs, and everyone has seen or heard of a crystal ball for crystal gazing. In divination it can point to new energies, new beginnings, a need to make a decision and act quickly upon it, and dreaming of clear quartz can mean freedom from enemies.

The Magician

This card is numbered one in the Major Arcana. It is associated with the planet Mercury. The image on this card is of a Magician at his altar with his right hand overhead and left hand pointing to the Earth below, a lemniscate symbol (also known as an infinity symbol) above his head. His altar holds all the elemental tools he needs to make magick happen. Some keywords for this card are talent, skill, will, power, self-confidence, communication, channeling, and cunning. The number one is associated with leadership, pioneering, singularity, and new  beginnings. Mercury in myth was the messenger of the Gods, he was also a trickster. Mercury rules Gemini, the sign of communication. If this was the card you were drawn to this week it may represent yourself or someone else in your life. If it represents you then you should feel confident in using your will to create new circumstances that you want in your life. This could be anything from writing that book, or starting a business to simply rearranging your kitchen cabinets. If however, this represents someone else in your life you may want to be aware of who is around you and what they are up to. It is much harder for someone to misdirect your attention when you are already aware of what they are trying to do. In either case trust your own instincts and abilities to create the safe space you need to to thrive in.

Chevron Amethyst

Amethyst is a variety of quartz made up of silicone dioxide, it gets its color from iron, and aluminum deposits as well as natural irradiation. Found in places like Brazil, Bolivia, Mexico, Africa, Canada, Russia, U.S.A. and Europe. It has a long history of use by humans. For some it was merely decorative, but the ancient Greeks were known to use it as  protection against drunkenness. It has also been known for it’s healing and protective properties. It resonates with the Crown Chakra. The Chevron Amethyst is said to be powerfully stimulating to the Third Eye Chakra, filtering information from the Crown Chakra into visions that are more easily interpreted. It is also excellent at dissipating and dispelling negative energies, so it is helpful for journeying and trance work. This stone is also know to assist creative endeavors of all kinds. In divination this stone shows that you may enjoy feeling good and receiving rewards without going overboard, or to excess. Dreaming of Amethyst is protective and signals freedom from harm and negativity.

Six of Wands

This card is the sixth card in the Minor Arcana suit of Wands. This card carries the energy of the planet Jupiter, and the sign Leo. Its modality is fixed and its element is fire.  The number six is considered a destiny number, a number that represents beauty, harmony, and balance. The suit of Wands in Tarot are said to represent primal energy, will, intuition, spirituality, inspiration, ambition, and expansion, as well as enterprise and distinction. The image on the card depicts a man on horseback with a laurel wreath not only on his head but also on the staff he holds. This card is considered a card of victory and success. Keywords include completion, success, reward, recognition, good news, and triumph. While the victory may be an internal one, it usually is one that will be recognized by those around you. You have summoned your inner fire of will and inspiration to win the day. The message of this card is that even if challenges are apparent you will overcome them. So if you were drawn to this card this week expect some sort of victory. It might be finishing a tough assignment at work, or quitting smoking, maybe even a lottery win. Whatever it is that you win this week it will be due to your work to keep yourself energetically aligned with this successful vibration.

I hope that you have found these mini-readings helpful this week. If you have any questions about them, or would like to book a full  personal reading, please feel free to email me at april@lodestarphx.com.

Tarot Tuesday May 28th.

When you feel ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. I am using crystal pendulums this week as markers, and I will include them in the following mini-readings. From left to right the pendulums are Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, and Amethyst. The deck this week is the Universal Waite published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. In this deck the drawings of Pamela Colman Smith have been recolored by artist Mary Hanson-Roberts.

The Reveal

From left to right we have Rose Quartz above the Page of Pentacles, Smoky Quartz above the Four of Cups, and Amethyst above the Ace of Cups. Pay attention to your initial reaction when you see the card that you were drawn to. You may feel differently after the mini-reading, or you may not. The first step in developing your intuition is to be aware of your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Once you are comfortable with identifying how you are reacting, or how your intuition is speaking to you, then you can further strengthen and use this awareness.

Rose Quartz

This silicon dioxide crystal is a variety of the Quartz family found all around the world. Rose quartz is called the heart stone, it corresponds to the heart chakra. In divination Rose Quartz suggests that it is time to forgive yourself for past mistakes, and to ensure that you are not taking on the blame for others.

Page of Pentacles

This card is a court card in the Minor Arcana suit of Pentacles. It carries the energy of Earth of Earth, with an astrological correspondence to the Earth signs of Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo. The image is of a youth holding a pentacle aloft  surrounded by the yellow-sky representing the Life-Breath. This card might represent an actual young person in your life, or it may just be a message that you will receive. Some keywords and ideas for this card include work, practicality, natural student, money, finances, growth, nature, and disciplined, responsible, and diplomatic. It may be that this card is a young person in your life that you can assist with learning some Earth lessons, or it could be messages that you are receiving that you learn some Earth lessons from this week.

Smoky Quartz

This is another silicon dioxide mineral variety of Quartz. Readily found all around the world. Yet many crystals on the market are clear Quartz that have been treated with x-rays, or radium to turn the crystals dark. It is the national gem of Scotland. It is used by metaphysical practitioners to ground, shield, and protect. It is known to activate and purify the Root Chakra, and is used in many healing tools and grid layouts. It is also used to protect the Earth Chakra that is slightly below the feet. In divination this stone suggests that any worries that have been around for some time are finally going to be improving, even if it seems they do so slowly.

Four of Cups

This card is the fourth card in the suit of cups in the Minor Arcana. It carries the astrological energy of Moon in Cancer and the modality and element of cardinal water. The image shows a figure sitting cross-legged and with arms crossed under a tree. There is a hand emerging from a cloud offering a cup, and three cups in the foreground. Fours are about foundations, stability, balance and authority. Cups represent the  emotions, intuition, creativity, and subconscious. Some keywords and concepts for this card include opportunities offered, contemplating a decision, dissatisfaction, passivity, brooding, inaction, or indecision. If you have been drawn to this card this week you may have been procrastinating on taking action or making a decision because you don’t feel emotionally ready, or emotionally satisfied about what your choices or the opportunities are. With the cups involved it may be that  mood is holding you back from thinking clearly. Create a pros and cons list so you can look at things in a more rational way. Remember that usually once we take some action even if small things start to feel better emotionally. Even coming to a decision can sometimes be enough of an action to start feeling better in a situation.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a variety of quartz made up of silicone dioxide, it gets its color from iron and aluminum deposits as well as natural irradiation. It resonates with the Crown Chakra, and helps connect it to the Third Eye, or Brow Chakra (Ajna Chakra). It is called the “All- healer” and said to be one the most effective for healing plants, animals, and people. It is a calming and soothing stone. Dreaming of this stone is a good omen as it is said to mean that you are safe, or free from harm (or will be safe and free from harm if you are not currently). In divination this stone means that you will be able to be satisfied with things as they are without need for extremes.

Ace of Cups

This card is the Ace card from the Cups suit in the Minor Arcana. It is the element of Water, with astrological correspondence to Cancer and Cardinal in the Suit of Water, Scorpio and fixed modality, and Pisces and Mutable modality. The image is of a hand emerging from the clouds holding a golden chalice overflowing with four streams of water into a lily pond with a dove dropping a Communion host into the center of the cup. Cups element of water equates to emotions and feelings, as well as intuition, and creativity. Aces are all about the new, new beginnings of all kinds. This card is most often an indicator for new love coming into your life. This may be a new romance, but it may also be a new art project. Anything that activates the feeling of love, and stimulates the flow of intuition, nurturing, and creativity could be considered. If you were drawn to this card this week expect to enjoy a new phase of loving energy flowing into your life.

This week the deck is the Morgan-Greer Tarot Deck published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. The crystal spheres above each card are being used as markers, but will also be included in the following mini-readings. From left to right the spheres are Picasso Jasper, Labradorite, and Blue Tiger’s Eye.

The Reveal

From left to right we have Picasso Jasper above the Page of Pentacles, Labradorite above the Queen of Pentacles, and Blue Tiger’s Eye above the Judgement card. This is a good time to take note of your initial reaction to the card that you were drawn to. Compare this to how you are thinking and feeling about the card after the mini-reading. Awareness of our emotions, thoughts, and feelings is the first step toward understanding how our intuition is communicating with us. Once we understand it we can strengthen it and truly trust ourselves to rely on it.

In divination this stone suggests that while you may have to make the best of a bad situation, that this is temporary and things will soon go your way.

Queen of Pentacles

This card is another court card in the Minor Arcana. If this card is not about a person at all it might mean that you should be grateful for the gifts the Earth has provided for you by honoring nature in some way. If this card is you this week then take it as a sign that you are capable of being in charge of your life. Whether the doubt is about business, finances, health, or creativity you are capable of managing and growing your life in a way that you will find most pleasing.

Blue Tiger’s Eye

This stone is also called Hawk’s Eye, or Falcon’s Eye, as well as Blue Tiger’s Eye. If you were drawn to this card this week it suggests that it is a time to make some big changes in your life. Tarot Tuesday

By get centered I mean to get calm, focused, and to be present in the moment.  By get grounded I mean to uncross your feet and arms, with feet flat on the floor. Allow these roots to anchor you in a supportive way that neutralizes negativity and draws up nurturing Earth energy for stability. Sometimes more than one  breath is needed to feel ready. Often three nice, slow, deep breaths are just right. Do what feels best for you…

When you feel ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. The Tarot deck used this week is the Morgan-Greer published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. There are crystal hearts above each of the cards used as markers and they will be included in the mini-readings that follow. From left to right the hearts are Amethyst, Chrysocolla, and Preseli Bluestone.

The Reveal

From left to right we have Amethyst above the Page of Swords, Chrysocolla above the Five of Cups  , and Preseli Bluestone above the Fool. Take note of your initial reaction to the card that you were drawn to, compare it to your reaction to the card after the mini-reading. Awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and emotions is the first step in knowing how our intuition is communicating with us.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a variety of quartz made up of silicone dioxide, it gets its color from iron and aluminum deposits as well as natural irradiation.

Page of Swords

This card is a court card in the Minor Arcana suit of swords. It is Earth in the Suit of Air with astrological correspondences to Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. The image of the card is of a youth holding a sword with cloudy skies behind him. The element of Air is concerned with thinking, mental agility, observation, communication, and learning. Some keywords and phrases associated with this card include intellect, mediation, idealistic, energetic, and strategy. Due to the fact gathering and learning component of this card it is also connected to ideas of spies and spying, gossip, and prying into affairs of others. Pages can be actual children in your life, or sometimes they are messages or messengers. If you have been drawn to this card this week you may find yourself needing to use strategy and awareness in a current situation. Pay particular attention to any messages you are receiving and the source of these messages, take your time to consider what any implications and consequences might be before responding.

Five of Cups

This card is the fifth card in the Minor Arcana suit of Cups. It has the astrological energy of Mars in Scorpio, and the modality and element of fixed water. The image of the card is of a robed figure looking sadly at three spilled cups, seemingly unaware of the two cups standing behind him. Cups represent feelings and emotions, as well as intuition, and even creativity and artistry. Some keywords include mourning, loss, disappointment, and not healing or coping after change or trauma. If you were drawn to this card this week it may be that there are changes occurring in your life that are painful for you. The message of this card is to remember that no matter what has been lost, when we work through the grief there still will be something left. The two cups are hard to see through the pain, but they will be cause for gratitude once your awareness can return to them.

Preseli Bluestone

This stone is spotted Dolerite which contains feldspar, with inclusions of illmenite or Hematite intergrown with titanium oxides. Most stones also have inclusions of white minerals like quartz or chalk in them as well. They are named after the area where the stone originates, the Preseli Mountains in Wales. This stone is the same stone as the stones in the inner circle at Stonehenge. This stone resonates with the Solar Plexus Chakra, activating willpower and courage.  It is said to enhance psychic gifts and aid in connecting to past lives in Celtic Britain and ancient Egypt. This stone is also said to connect you to the mystical archetype of Merlin and his magic. This is a good stone for grounding and for deepening connection with the Earth. In divination this stone may suggest that you may need to stay grounded and trust in your abilities to channel the wisdom of your past to inform your future.

The Fool

This Major Arcana card is numbered zero in this deck. In different decks it is placed in different positions, sometimes zero, sometimes twenty two. In the Rider-Waite- Smith deck for example Waite placed it after Judgement numbered twenty, but left it numbered at zero. In astrology it is attributed to Uranus, and the element of Air. Zero can be thought of as the unlimited absolute, or nothingness. The image of this card shows a youth traveling with a dog ( animal nature, instinct) holding a white rose of a passion that is pure and innocent in one hand and a wand with his sack of belongings ( or experiences, or karmic baggage) in his other hand. When this card shows up it often can point to the beginning of an adventure, or any new undertaking or thing that may enter your world. It can also mean innocence, idealism, risk taking, trusting, seeking, spontaneous, and imaginative. Many see this card as the seeker starting the Hero’s Journey through the Tarot. If this is the card that you have been drawn to this week it is likely that you should go ahead and start something new, take the leap of faith in yourself and do whatever it is you have been afraid of. This is a time of unlimited potential.

Tarot Tuesday May 7th.

When you feel ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. There are crystal wands above each of the cards used as markers and they will be included in the mini-readings that follow. The crystals from left to right are Stromatolite, Onyx, and Pietersite.  This week the deck is the Rider Waite-Smith deck published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

The Reveal

From left to right we have Stromatolite above The Empress, Onyx above the Five of Swords, and Pietersite above the Queen of Cups. Pay attention to your first impression when you see the card you were drawn to. Compare that first impression to your thoughts and feelings after the mini-readings below. Learning to pay attention to our thoughts, feelings and emotions is the first step in learning how our intuition works in speaking to us, and this can help us to better understand, use, and strengthen our own intuition.

Stromatolite

Stromatolite is an excellent stone for transformation, and evolutionary change. It assists in removing or changing deeply ingrained blockages, patterns and programs. It is also known to encourage new patterns, and flexible thinking. Stromatolite is created from fossilized algae that were the predominant form of life on Earth for more than two billion years, and are said to have created the oxygen on our planet. This stone is also said to be helpful for reading the Akashic Records, and delving into past lives through techniques like past life regression. This stone has a deeply earthy energy that works well with the Root and Solar Plexus Chakras. In divination this stone points to a time when change is called for, you may want to initiate these changes before they are brought about from outside of you.

The Empress

This card is the third card in the Major Arcana. It has an astrological correspondence with the planet Venus. In mythology Venus is a Goddess of beauty and love. The card holds the vibration of the number three, in numerology threes stand for creativity, artistic leanings, growth, team-work, self-expression, and playfulness. The image of this card is that of a pregnant woman seated in a lush meadow with trees and a flowing water behind her, a heart shaped shield with the symbol of Venus on it is at her feet. There is the suggestion of the Great Mother, an Earth Goddess, or possibly Mother Earth herself. Some keywords associated with this card include fertility, motherhood, creativity, self- expression, love, relationships, emotions, intuition, and hopes and dreams. If you have been drawn to this card this week then it is likely that growth will occur for you, if you have been waiting to take steps on an artistic project now is a time to do so. In relationships there will be harmony and balance this week, which in and of itself is helpful to making headway in areas where you might have felt stuck.

Onyx

Onyx is a variety of silicate mineral chalcedony. Black onyx stimulates both the Earthstar and Root Chakras. Onyx is an ancient stone used for many magickal and mundane purposes by many cultures throughout history. Black Onyx is a powerful stone of protection for the mind and body. It is useful as a sort of shield against harmful energies, often used by those who do energy work like psychics, and mediums. It has a very earthy, grounding energy to it that might be depressing for some if used for too long.  Helps develop emotional and physical strength and stamina. It is helpful in times of stress, confusion, and grief. With time and thoughtful workings this stone can help lead one to mastery of one’s self. In divination Onyx means that happiness and good fortune are just around the corner. To dream of Onyx is said to mean that you will have a happy marriage.

Five of Swords

This card is the fifth card in the Minor Arcana suit of Swords. It has an astrological correspondence with Venus in Aquarius. This card is of the Air element, air is a representation of thoughts, and communications. The number five is a number that shows change,  movement, and transmutation. The air signs of Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini could figure into the associations for this card. The card itself shows several dejected figures and one figure in the foreground. There are stormy skies that might further suggest battles, or unrest of sorts. The scene appears like a battle has been won, but the victory may or may not have been worth it. If you have chosen this card then it is likely that there has been a fight of ideas going on for you. It is also a possibility that the new ideas that win will cause you to make some changes. Making changes is not always easy, but once we are far enough along to see the results of them it is like the difference between night and day. Also remember that often when making big changes we need to let go of what is not working and even though this leads to better things it can hurt or be unsettling to do so. So allow yourself to grieve what you will be getting rid of even if it is just an idea, or belief. When you are done the clouds will clear and the Sun will shine again.

Pietersite

Pietersite is known as the Tempest Stone. It can clear the emotional air like a thunderstorm is known to do, leaving the aura and emotions feeling calm and renewed. It grounds physical energy centers to the etheric realm instead of to the Earth. It increases intuition, the use of the will, and the focus of one’s aim in life. It is also a powerful protective stone, especially against the elements, storms in particular. This crystal is also good for boosting confidence, creativity, and supports overcoming addictions. It is a blend of Tiger’s eye, Hawks eye, and Jasper with incredible chatoyancy (shimmery shine) that makes it seem to swirl like a storm brewing. It is a fairly recent discovery made by Sid Pieters in Windhoek, Namibia. In divination this crystal means that you will see things in a new way, usually after something is brought to light.

Queen of Cups

This card is a court card in the Cups suit of the Minor Arcana. This Queen is known as Water in the suit of Water. The astrological affinity is Cardinal Water. The image of this card is that of a Queen sitting on her throne at the water’s edge gazing into the chalice she holds. Some keywords are loving, sensitive, motherly, compassionate, intuitive, dreamer, artistic, creative, emotional depth, and protective. Court cards can often show up as people in your life, this queen may represent either yourself or someone else who is in your life. If it is you, you may be in a position to be a caretaker or use your intuition to assist another, if this is someone else in your life trust them to provide you with the assistance you need right now with their compassionate counsel.

I hope that this mini-reading has been helpful for you this week. If you have any questions about it, or would like to book a full personalized reading then please feel free to contact me at april@lodestarphx.com

Tarot Tuesday April 30th.

Sometimes more than one l breath is needed to feel ready. Often three nice, slow, deep breaths are just right. Do what feels best for you…

Once you feel ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. The crystal hearts above each card are being used as markers and will also be included in the following mini-readings. From left to right we have a Fluorite crystal, a Sunstone crystal, and a Blue Calcite crystal. The deck this week is the Universal Waite deck published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. The original drawings of Pamela Coleman Smith have been re-colored by Mary Hanson-Roberts in this deck.

The Reveal

From left to right we have Fluorite above the Seven of Swords, Sunstone above Temperance, and Blue Calcite above the Seven of Pentacles. Pay attention to your initial reaction when first seeing the card that you were drawn to and compare this to to your reactions after the mini-readings. Awareness of our thoughts, feelings and emotions is the first step in learning to hone our own intuitive skills.  Was the card you were drawn to what you expected?  After the mini-reading you may ask yourself if the card and it’s message resonated for you? Or did you find associations and meanings for the card that weren’t even mentioned, yet were helpful for you?

Fluorite

Fluorite is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, it belongs to the halide minerals. It is a widely occurring mineral with deposits found worldwide. Industrially it is used as flux for smelting, and in the production of some glasses and enamels. Fluorite is a very protective stone, good for grounding and harmonizing spiritual energy. It connects the mind to universal consciousness, and helps develop links with spirit. It helps bring intuitive insights into the physical plane. Fluorite balances mental and physical energies and can clear negative energies from the aura. It is said to enhance mental abilities and has been called the “genius stone”. It stimulates the electrical charge in the brain and increases prana energy. This stone works well with the upper Chakras. It needs to be cleared often as it is always working to absorb negativity from its environment. In divination this crystal is said to assist in making decisions that are practical, but also ethical and do not go against your principles.

Seven of Swords

This card is the Seventh card in the Minor Arcana suit of Swords. It carries the astrological energy of Moon in Aquarius, and the modality and element of fixed air. The image seems to be a smug figure sneaking away from a camp with five swords, leaving two swords behind. This card is often seen through the lens of keywords like thievery, plagiarism, unfaithfulness, sneakiness, and as a warning to not leave yourself undefended. While this can be true it should also be remembered that the suit of swords is the element of Air, thinking, mentality, and thoughts that have solidified into beliefs. Seven in numerology is often connected with a seeker of truth and seen as being of a spiritual vibration. It should also be pointed out that it would take some skill to handle all five of those swords as the figure seems to be doing in the card image. You will know if this is a warning for you to protect yourself from those who would steal your ideas, or if you maybe need to skillfully combine several ideas into a new action for yourself this week. In either case being truthful and scrupulous about it will be the only real protection to be had.

Sunstone

Sunstone is a plagioclase feldspar. It has been found in southern Norway, Sweden and various locations around the U.S. It is known as a joyful stone that assists in the nurturing of self in order to be of service to others. It is said to increase vitality, abundance, and luck. It carries the energy of Solar Deities. It will clear and cleanse all chakras, but works particularly well with the base and sacral chakras. In divination Sunstone heralds luck and health, our challenge is to enjoy this period of time without worrying if it will last.

Temperance

This card is the fourteenth card in the Major Arcana. It carries the astrological energy of Sagittarius with the modality and element of fixed fire. The image shows a winged Angel with one foot on land and one in the water pouring the essence of life from one chalice into another. This suggest that the Angel is not only between “the worlds”, but is also mixing and combing elements from them. Performing alchemy, tempering, and harmonizing. Some keywords associated with this card include a test that is coming, need to verify, adapting to circumstances and conditions, experimentation, search for meaning, idealism, enthusiasm, solving problems, balancing, compromise, and of course tempering one’s desires and actions. If you have been drawn to this card this week it is likely that you will be expanding on your usual experiences the outcome should be favorable and enjoyable, just keep in mind the old axiom “all things in moderation” to stay in balance and not get too carried away.

Blue Calcite

Calcite is a carbonate mineral. There are over 800 varieties. Most on the market these days comes from Brazil and Mexico. As a blue stone it is aligned with the Third Eye, or Ajna Chakra, and the Throat Chakra. While it is an overall soothing stone, it amplifies energy in these chakras. This stone will clear out negative energies from physical bodies and environments. It clears out old patterns so healing and new patterns can be established. It also assists with increasing intuition and emotional healing and balancing. This stone represents female intuitive yin energy. In divination this stone suggests that you might need to work on healing self-talk right now, making sure your inner dialog speaks to you as you would speak to your own best friend. This is a time for healing your emotions, before you worry about making anyone else understand them.

Seven of Pentacles

This card is the seventh card in the Minor Arcana suit of Pentacles. It carries the astrological energy of Saturn in Taurus and the modality and element of fixed earth. The image shows a figure leaning on a hoe after apparently toiling in the garden, seven pentacles grow on the plant before him. There is sometimes a grim view taken of this card with keywords like loss, or failure, but if we consider the seven in numerology being a vibration of spirituality and truth seeking we may more easily view this card through the keyword of patience. We are not through with the process, nature works in cycles, with periods of growth and fallow times. If you find yourself feeling like you are in a period where things are not working out, or appear to be going poorly use patience and focus as much as possible on your connection to the spiritual side of life to endure until fertility and abundance are flowing for you again. This week it is almost but not quite happening yet, whatever “it” is that you are desiring.

I hope that you have found these mini-readings helpful this week. If you have any questions about these mini-readings, or would like to book a full personalized reading please feel free to contact me at april@lodestarphx.com

Tarot Tuesday April 23

Tarot Tuesday

Take a moment and take a deep breath. Get centered, and grounded, then pick a card. By get centered I mean to get calm, focused, and to be present in the moment.  By get grounded I mean to uncross your feet and arms, with feet flat on the floor. It is also beneficial if you can quickly imagine roots shooting down from your root Chakra and feet into the Earth. Allow these roots to anchor you in a supportive way that neutralizes negativity and draws up nurturing Earth energy for stability. Sometimes more than one l breath is needed to feel ready. Often three nice, slow, deep breaths are just right. Do what feels best for you…

When you are ready pick the card that you feel the most drawn to. The Crystal spheres above each card are used as markers and will also be included in the following mini-readings. From left to right we have Fluorite, Quartz, and  Labradorite. The card deck this week is the Rider Waite (Smith) deck published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

The Reveal

From left to right we have the Fluorite above the Knight of Wands, the Quartz above the Two of Pentacles, and the Labradorite above the Ten of Swords. Notice your initial reactions to the card you were drawn to. Was it what you expected? What emotions, feeling, and thoughts does it bring up for you? Check this against your reactions after the mini-reading for your card and see if there are any differences or not for you. Learning how your own intuition speaks to you and how to understand it starts with your awareness.

Knight of Wands

This card is a court card in the Minor Arcana. It is known as Air in the Suit of Fire, and it has an astrological affinity with the Mutable Fire sign of Sagittarius. The image on the card is of a young knight rearing up on his horse in fiery appearing attire, holding a wand or staff. If this card doesn’t represent an actual young man in your life then it may concern all types of dynamic communication. Movement, travel, active, issue oriented and fighting for a cause are all keywords associated with this card. In divination it may point to an actual person of this nature that you encounter, or it may suggest travel or even a move. If you have been waiting to take action on something this is a sign to take steps to make things happen.

Quartz

Two of Pentacles

This card is the second card in the Minor Arcana suit of Pentacles. Astrologically it carries the energy of Jupiter in Capricorn with modality and element of cardinal earth. The image shows a figure in a tall hat juggling two pentacles before a choppy sea. The figure may be  a jester or a showman. Even though there are only two objects being juggled the pattern is that of the lemiscate (also known as the infinity symbol). In numerology twos represent duality, choices, communications, partnerships, and a wide and varied number of concepts that come in pairs like male and female, yin and yang or day and night. Some keywords for this card include balance, harmony, equilibrium, flux, rhythm (especially between things like the spiritual and material for example), polarities, opposites, and opposite ends of a spectrum. If you are drawn to this card this week you may find yourself trying to find balance amidst change. There is likely to be a lot of activity involved, as in trying to juggle several situations at once. Often this card shows this as a phase, that’s the good news. Once you have the complexities in hand then it will likely change again. Think of it as a dance you will master, then you will learn another more difficult dance. It might seem hard at times, but with the right attitude it can also be fun(or at least satisfying that you are mastering your dance of life).

Labradorite

Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is known for its Labradorescence, a remarkable play of flashing colors. It was discovered in Labrador Canada by Moravian Missionaries in 1770. There are other varieties like Golden Labradorite, and Spectrolite, and intense variety discovered in Finland in the 1940s that displays the entire color spectrum. It is said to be a powerfully protective stone shielding and strengthening the aura, which allows for exploring the astral realm and safely experiencing psychic phenomenon. Labradorite radiates a predominately blue energy that stimulates the Throat Chakra, and its ability to flash the other colors assist in unifying all the Chakras and allowing for expression through the Throat Chakra. In divination this stone suggests that while you may have to make the best of a bad situation, that this is temporary and things will soon go your way.

Ten of Swords

This card is the tenth card in the Minor Arcana suit of swords. It’s element and modality are mutable air, with the energy of the Sun and sign of Gemini. The number ten is often associated with endings and conclusions, but it also contains the number one within it hinting at a whole new beginning.  The image of this card is of a figure face down on the ground with ten swords impaled into the back. Swords are the element of Air, which is thinking and mentality. This might show faulty thinking being the cause of this unexpected ending. It might also point to the need for new thoughts or ways of thinking about things in order to avoid a repeat of this kind of painful experience. Sometimes I have seen this card appear in a reading when not only a new way of thinking were needed, but new methods as well, like trying meditation, or acupuncture(as the image looked at literally might suggest). In any case if you were drawn to this card this week it might be time to carefully examine your thoughts and belief system, then look around you to see what might not be in alignment with your highest good and if it is time to clear that away so you can begin a new cycle.
